One Last post for 2011

A year from now when I’m reading this, I hope I’m living in our new home.  I hope my 5 year old son is taller, stronger, and braver than he is right now.  I hope his smile stays the same.  I hope he keeps his positive outlook on life.

I hope my 2 year old daughters are causing a little less trouble.  I hope they grow out of the “terrible” stage early.  I hope they both keep their bubbly personalities, but Cadee looses her obsession with shoes.  I hope they are both speaking in full sentences, or well on their way.

I hope my husband still loves his job.  I hope we have a year worth of monthly dates to look back on.  I hope we have plenty of pictures of our New York trip and that we made it home for Thanksgiving.

I hope I kept up with my writing goals.  I hope I actually decorated my house, or at least started.  I hope I spend most of my days being grateful and less of my time in chaos.  I hope my house is relatively clean, my kitchen is stocked, and my heart is full of joy.  I hope I remembered daily how blessed I am to have such a beautiful family.

A year ago I thought I was through the worst of it, that the first year with twins would be followed by a breath of fresh air.  While I am a little disappointed that the breath never came, I am glad that this year felt infinitely more rewarding.  While the day to day took just as much effort and possibly more energy than the first year, watching my children bloom and grow made every day worth it.  Their personalities, their little quirks made it all worth wild.

Next year will still be tough.  Two is not an easy age, and two times two is terrifying.  But I’m sure that it will be worth it, and by the end on next year we will be almost to three, which is an absolutely wonderful year.  Well, here’s hoping.

  1. I love the way you wrote this...not "resolutions" exactly, but more of hopes and dreams for the future. :) Wishing you all that and more in the new year! :)

  2. Two is nothing to be scared of. Let's talk again when they're 3. :) Happy New Year!
