We are in the home stretch, one week left until Christmas day! Are you completely ready for Christmas? Is your menu planned, your presents bought and wrapped and your house beautifully decorated? Did you get your cards in the mail and your packages to the post office on time? Me neither.
I still have things to buy, I haven't wrapped a single present, and my cards are in a pile on my bookshelf. I told you I suck at mail.
I'm grateful my kids are still young and don't have expectation of the holidays. I'm taking advantage of that. They are still mesmerized by all the Christmas magic and don't know that things aren't perfect. So I am relaxing and letting things be. My cards probably won't make it into the mail box. Half of my Christmas decor will stay in their boxes. The beautiful glass ornaments will keep for another year or two.
With only a week left of this magic season, it's time to enjoy every minute I can. Making candy with my kids, looking at lights, taking it easy on the couch with some Christmas TV shows. Whatever doesn't get done will keep for next year or the year after that.
I never wrap everything until the night before Christmas. :) I bet your kids will look back on these holidays and view them as perfect!
