Coffee Talk: Christmas Time

I decided to go out for some virtual coffee with Rebecca from Unexplained x2.  Here's how the conversation went.

1. How was your week?
Ugh, it was one of those.  Nothing was going my way, everything I did kept backfiring, and I was stressed to the max.  However, most of the situations have been resolved and I'm breathing a little easier.

2. What was the one thing you wanted to get done this weekend?
There was so much I wanted to get done this weekend, and only a few things actually happened.  One thing I did accomplish was I made blankets for the girls for Christmas.  You know, the fleece kind with the tie fringe?  Well I made one for each girl, but I made them with hoods.  Ky really loves running around the house with a blanket on her head, so a hooded blanket will make it easier.  I know, my kids are weird.  It's cool though.  I think she's going to LOVE it.  And I made Cadee one too, to try and limit the fighting.

3. Did you get it done?
No, I didn't.  My kids went absolutely nuts were having one of those weeks too, which was preventing me from being really productive.  The good news is I will have some help from my mom the next two weeks, so that will help.  The bad news is I have something to do or planned every day from now until Christmas.  The next two weeks are going to make me pull every hair out of my head be intense.
4. What is one popular holiday "tradition" that you will just never understand?
Mistletoe.  Why does standing under a plant mean you have to kiss someone, no matter who they are?  That's just weird.  Really.  I've never been caught under the mistletoe with anyone, but if I was I would NOT kiss them.  Unless I wanted too.  You know. :)
5. Is there a gift that you bought for someone this Christmas that you're totally nervous about?
We are limiting the amount of gifts we are buying this year by A LOT!  I'm nervous about that.  I don't want to be caught in the awkward spot where someone gives you something nice and you have a plate of cookies for them.  That sucks.  But seriously, if we are friends in real life, all you are getting is cookies, so don't get me anything nice!
My gift for Hubby is time consuming, and I'm hoping I can pull it off.

6. Are you going to be able to attend church services this year?
Yup, Christmas Eve service at 4pm.  It's 45 minutes long, with no childcare.  I have a feeling we won't make it through the whole thing.  My three kids don't really behave anywhere in church, so we will see how it goes.
7. What are you wearing right now? If you house burned down and you had to run outside, do you look acceptable enough to be interviewed by the local news??
I would be so screwed.  I'm wearing a T-Shirt from my husbands college that has a weird science picture of a naked man standing in a circle.  You know what I'm talking about?  I know, weird, but it's comfy.  Also, my pants are missing their drawstring, so they keep falling down.  That would be a terrible interview!

Want to join in for coffee?  Check it out at Rebecca's place.

  1. Teehee, I loved reading your answers!

I can't wait to see pics of those blankets.

I'm also severely cutting down on Christmas. I bought 5 groupons (1/3rd of price) for photobooks and everyone is getting one. The rest are also getting baked goods from my kitchen, made with lots of love :)

  2. #1 = dislike...sounds like you need some Zen. I'm intrigued by Husband's Christmas present...what are you doing?

    Those blankets sound awesome.
